Pumpkin Puppet Workshop
Your child will experience the full creative journey of bringing a puppet character to life! Under the guidance of Emily Downes—a UWM puppetry instructor and owner of Magic Hands Puppets—participants will learn how to design, build, and perform with their very own handmade puppets.
Throughout the workshop, children will also collaborate to build and decorate a communal mini stage, which will become the backdrop for their mini puppet show performance during the final week. This hands-on, imagination-fueled program blends art, teamwork, and storytelling into one unforgettable experience!
Ages 5-9 are welcome. There will be some parts of the workshop where parents may need to assist their child depending on their age. However, we do encourage parents to lounge in our seating area and enjoy coffee or tea while students are working.
The $40 covers 1 child for all three weeks. Siblings of those registered for the workshop are welcome to enjoy the studio for a family drop in price of $15 per family.
Drop in 3:30-5:30
Week 1, Wednesday October 15th: build stage and prep story
Week 2, Wednesday October 22nd: make puppets and practice show
Practice and show start at 3:30 and ends by 4:30pm
Week 3, Wednesday October 29th: final practice and show presentation
Registration fee is non refundable. Fee transfers are negotiable.
